Today's Rundown

With the first month of 2019 behind us, the hotel industry is channeling positivity following the Americas Lodging Investment Summit. The seemingly boundless growth the industry has benefited from for nearly a decade may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to throw in the towel.

On the contrary, industry leaders called for hoteliers to plan for the future, starting with the development of young talent. Meanwhile, Caesars Entertainment is showing its hand with the launch of a new non-naming hotel brand, Republic, with its first hotel planned for Scottsdale, Ariz. Caesars isn’t abandoning its gaming roots any time soon, but the company is setting out to show that it can attract guests even without the allure of the casino floor.
