As per the World Tourism Organization (WTO), the United Nations specialized agency mandated with the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism, Asia Pacific makes up 30% of the total revenue in global tourism and welcomed 263 million international tourists, up 14 million from 2013 (+5%). The region earned US$ 377 billion in tourism earning, up by US$ 16 billion over 2014 (+4% in real terms).
With the double-digit growth that is becoming reality as per the predictions, the prospects are positive towards a sustainable investment and return in profits. Vietnam’s tourism environment (security, health care, sanitation) reaches 4.6 out of 7 points, policy (3.7 points), and natural and cultural resources (2.9 points).
With 62 % occupancy rate and 82% international guests, Vietnam Hotel & Resort Industry offers huge potential towards tourism revenue. In terms of International Tourists, Vietnam is at number 5 in ASEAN.

As per The World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index 2015 Ranking, Vietnam stands at 67 in 2017 while it was at 75 among 141 countries in 2015 and was on 89 in year 2009. The country, which is already endowed with exceptional natural and cultural resources, has significantly benefited from improvements to its human resources and labour market. Vietnam has also made exceptional improvement to its ICT capacity and usage (up 17 positions).
